1. The 9th bit function of Ethernet serial port conversion module

In serial communication, often sets the ninth to 0 and 1 which respectively represent data frame and address frame, to realize the multicomputer communication, here introduce the method of after using Ethernet serial conversion module to upgrade serial port to Ethernet, use address frame to realize multi-devices communication.

2. 9th bit functions based on virtual serial port

If the user's upper computer software is based on serial communication, then use ZLAN ZLVircom virtual serial port to connect with the user's upper computer software. If you have multiple devices, you need to bind multiple devices to the same virtual serial port, such as COM5. When user's upper computer software open COM5 with the 9th bit for 1, all the ZLAN Ethernet serial conversion module binding on COM5 automatically switch to the pattern of the 9th bit to 1, at this time the upper computer can send address frame. After sending the address frame, the upper computer software switches to the mode of 9th bit for 0, and then the ZLAN Ethernet serial port conversion module automatically sets the 9th position to 0. The middle process is completely adaptive without user intervention.

The ninth bit function of ZLAN Ethernet serial conversion module, can not only make Ethernet serial conversion module to realize automatic 9th bit adaptation following ZLVircom, also can realize automatically adapt to 9th bit function auto-adaptive following the serial port data. That is, ZLVircom will also set the 9th bit to 1 if the device sends the data to the Ethernet serial port conversion module of 9th bit for 1.

3. 9th bit function of Ethernet port docking

If the user connect Ethernet ports of 2 Ethernet serial port conversion modules in butt joint, such as A Ethernet serial port conversion module and B Ethernet serial port conversion module. When the 9th bit of entering data of A serial port changes, the 9th bit of output data of B serial port will automatically follow the change. In this way, the ninth bit function of the Ethernet port butt joint is realized.

4. 9th bit function based on TCP/IP

If the user’s upper computer software is a software based on TCP/IP, rather than the virtual serial port or Ethernet port butt joint, so also can realize ninth bit switch function for Ethernet serial port conversion module.
